August 13, 2018 was a pivotal day for my wife and I. We believed our own lie for so long that we had our addiction under control but on that day, we realized that the one in control was our addiction. A string of bad decisions had left me hospitalized. I was cut and sewn together on the outside but left with a brokenness on the inside. I don't speak this out of sadness but out of praise that God and only God has taken the brokenness and replaced it with a peace that surpasses all understanding. After I was released from the hospital my wife was referred to the Lovelady center in Birmingham by some members of our church and two days later, she embarked on a life changing opportunity. That's also the same time that we were first put in contact with Glenn. Within seconds of calling him for the first time I felt at ease. As if I were talking to a close friend. We had no idea where to begin but thankfully he was able to walk us through the process and prepare us for the journey ahead. As my wife began her journey to recovery in Birmingham, I also began mine at home. I made a two hour drive every weekend to visit the Lovelady center. It was a true blessing to be there in person and witness God's work in the lives of so many people. People that may not have had a chance to be there if it weren't for Glenn's compassion and caring to reach out to the ones that the world has turned their backs on. On April 19th of the following year, I watched my wife walk across the stage and receive her diploma for graduating from the Lovelady center. We are now closing in on four years of sobriety. We never lost contact with Glenn. We actually call on him quite often. He showed us by caring for us with that very first phone call that you can have a huge impact on someone's life. So now my wife and I seek to help others around us find the help they need with addiction and Glenn has been our "go to" as I call him to help us help them.

I love Unforsaken Ministries! They have been there for me when nobody else was at my lowest point in my life! Thank you for everything you continue to do to help me in my sobriety, it doesn’t go unnoticed and is appreciated beyond words.
